Teachers-Teachers is the world’s largest education hiring internet company.  Teachers-Teachers  currently has over five hundred thousand candidates and eighteen thousand schools signed up for the service, and is a heavily used site with over twenty five million page views per year.  Worked with the Teachers-Teachers management and development staff to move the code base and database schemas to best practices, increased site up time between failures from hours to years, increased site responsiveness on complex database requests from minutes to milliseconds.  Created a high availability and failover environment for production resources.  Technologies included Cold Fusion, Microsoft SQL Server, HTML, AJAX, DHTML, Javascript, jQuery, and web services.

X2Delta is a Web Hosting provider that focuses on custom solutions for small to mid sized businesses.  Migrated existing customer management software from a large, disparate tool set to a single integrated solution.  The solution focused on automating and tracking data center operations as well as customer interactions and billing in a mixed environment (Microsoft/Linux servers and applications).    Technologies included Microsoft’s dotnet framework tools – asp.net, c#.net, and ado.net. 

 

Newmont Mining Corporation

Newmont Mining Corporation is one of the world’s largest gold mining companies.  The corporate headquarters is located in Denver, Colorado.  Projects included creating new portal sites to give departments (Legal, Supply Chain Management, Merger, IT) higher employee visibility.  Worked with permanent IT staff to stabilize and extend their Web environment.  Technologies included Cold Fusion 5.0, Solaris Unix, Oracle 8i, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Novell.

 

Organum Software (Client Server Associates)

Organum Software creates software management tools for enterprise level IT organizations.  Was brought in to manage and drive to completion a development effort that had gotten off track.  Analyzed issues, reprioritized the project, and moved the team and the project to a successful conclusion.  Was heavily involved in both the management and coding aspects of the project.  Technologies included ASP, Cold Fusion 5.0, Microsoft SQL Server, Stored Procedures, javascript, DHTML, and javascript.

 


Titan Laboratories (Titan Labs)

Titan Labs is a fluid analysis/testing company for companies with commercial and industrial vehicle fleets.  Titan Labs was looking for a vendor to build a web site that would allow the outside customer to access data and reports from an existing, in house AIX Pick system.  Responsibilities included full lifecycle project work (vision, discovery, scope, design, implementation, rollout, support).  Technologies included Cold Fusion, Microsoft SQL Server, Stored Procedures, javascript, DHTML, HTML, and Pick.

 

Sanford Homes (Sanford)

Sanford Homes is national homebuilder, and has its headquarters in Denver.  Was brought in to help Sanford employees leverage data via an intranet web site from their AS400.  This work included all aspects of the Sanford’s work, including sales, construction, and warranty support.  Wrote Cold Fusion applications to leverage the LDAP functionality of Windows 2000 ADS for security.  Technologies included Cold Fusion (4.0, 4.5, and 5.0), Microsoft SQL Server, Stored Procedures, javascript, DHTML, javascript, and DB2.

 

Got a Job

Got a job was a startup designed to match employers of high turnover companies (fast food for example) to potential employees.  Brought on as a project manager, I was responsible for troubleshooting and fixing a problematic development team methodology and structure, as well as a poorly developed code base.  Moved client in house development teams to latest releases of Cold Fusion.  Technologies included Cold Fusion, Solaris Unix, Oracle, Javascript, HTML, DHTML, and Java.

Senior Web Developer

 

Contracted to maintain existing corporate internets and intranets.  Technologies included Cold Fusion, SQL Server, Windows Server, HTML, DHTML, and Javascript.

 

Established and maintained Cold Fusion, Fusebox, and IIS standards & practices for code development, quality assurance, and deployment for clients.

 

Redesigned, documented, and implemented the new core presentation and navigation structure for the Intellidyne intranet system.

 

Worked on internal projects such as Fraud and Abuse, OGC Final Decisions, and the 817 applications.

 

Designed, documented, and implemented a server, application, and code redeployment plan for a large server migration.

 

Worked extensively with the NOC to configure Cold Fusion, IIS, and Windows Server 2000 on development, staging, and production servers to meet government security standards.  Became de facto manager of all web application deployment and security provisioning on web servers.

All projects were enterprise level projects involving a clustered, multiple server environment.   Responsibilities included full life cycle project work, as well as positioning Sprint solutions to meet client needs.

The CME is a stock exchange much like the NYSE.  The CME was moving their internet web site from a static HTML to a dynamic, content driven web presence with a strong eBusiness component.  I was brought on in the middle of the development phase by Sprint (at Allaire’s request) to rescue the project (the original development team were unix guru’s, but not developers).  My responsibilities included reformulating the project plan, retasking personnel, visioning of the eBusiness component, and hands on development of specific functionality (XML data import/export, security, data replication, load balancing), and code review of eight team member.  Technologies included Spectra, Cold Fusion, Solaris Unix, Oracle, javascript, XML, DHTML, and HTML. 

 


IDV Sports (IDV)

IDV was a startup venture designed to leverage online content to drive back end sales.  IDV contracted out to sprint to develop their internet site.  I was brought in by Sprint mid way through the project as a hands on internet architect.  My responsibilities included team management, code development, source code control and review, and code development of the eBusiness solution for the project.  Also responsible for db load optimization, which resulted in the bulk of the sql queries being moved to stored procedures.  Technologies included Spectra, Cold Fusion, Microsoft SQL Server, Stored Procedures, javascript, and DHTML.

Project Manager responsible for complete life cycle development of several large projects using Cold Fusion - portal sites, eBusiness solutions, etc.  Took lead developer role in smaller projects using such technologies as Cold Fusion, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle 8I, JavaScript, and HTML.
